How do volcanoes work?

When people picture volcanoes and how they work they think of this diagram to the left. But then people ask what causes the magma to rise?

Here is a little video teaching you about the huge volcanoe at Yellow Stone National Park. Enjoy!

Why do they call lava magma when underground?

Did you know volcanoes haven't changed in thousands of years and will most likely never change?
